Out of Sight and TerraScape are the Epic Games free games for October 8, 2026.
Both Windows PC games will be free to claim until October 15, 2026, according to Epic's free-games lineup. Claim them during that window and they stay in your Epic library afterward.

The pairing offers two different kinds of puzzle solving: escaping a sinister mansion through a teddy bear's eyes, or planning a peaceful medieval settlement. Here is what each game offers and how to get both without missing the deadline.

Out of Sight free on Epic: horror through Teddy's eyes

Developed by The Gang Studio, Out of Sight follows Sophie, a blind girl who can see through her teddy bear, Teddy. She must escape her captors and uncover the history of the mansion holding her prisoner.

The unusual viewpoint is the main reason to investigate this one. Its Epic listing describes a second-person perspective, sneaking, hiding, and environmental puzzles. The premise makes observing danger part of the puzzle itself, rather than simply putting a different camera behind a familiar horror protagonist.

It is a single-player choice for readers who want an eerie story and puzzles. If you mainly want cooperative scares, the more relevant alternative is our coverage of the Escape from Playtime multiplayer playtest.

Platforms: Windows PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The publisher's launch announcement confirms the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox versions; Nintendo's listing confirms the Switch release and compatibility with Switch 2. That compatibility is for the Switch version.

TerraScape free on Epic: a city-building puzzle

TerraScape, developed by Bitfall Studios, builds its medieval kingdoms around placement puzzles. You choose decks of buildings, position structures near helpful terrain and neighboring buildings, and earn points that keep the settlement growing.

The important distinction is what it leaves out. The official description explicitly excludes combat, citizen simulation, and resource management. Expect to think about combinations and scoring rather than manage a city's entire economy.

Specific building arrangements can merge into larger complexes with bonuses. Creative Mode lets you build without the usual limits, while cooperative and competitive modes support up to four players. That gives TerraScape a social option that Out of Sight does not offer.

Platforms: Windows PC and macOS are listed on its Steam page. The Epic version currently lists Windows only, so the giveaway should not be treated as a confirmed Mac offer. TerraScape's Steam release dates back to July 17, 2024; October 8 is its listed Epic availability date, rather than the game's original launch.

How to claim and keep both Epic games

  1. Sign in to your Epic Games account. Epic's weekly-giveaway support page says two-factor authentication is required, so have it enabled.
  2. Open each base-game listing during the promotion. Use the Out of Sight and TerraScape links above.
  3. Check that the price is $0.00 and complete the claim. Claim each game separately; adding it to a wishlist does not redeem it.
  4. Confirm both games are in your library. You can install them later.

Epic's store FAQ confirms that claimed weekly games remain playable after the offer ends. This is a free-to-keep promotion, rather than a free weekend that expires.

What it means for players, and what is still unclear

The practical choice is simple: Out of Sight is the solo horror option, while TerraScape suits placement puzzles and playing with friends. Both giveaways are for Epic's Windows versions; claiming Out of Sight there does not provide its console editions.

The stores also list Out of Sight: Stage Fright and TerraScape Ancient Egypt as separate add-ons. The free-games announcement does not promise those expansions, so treat the offer as the base games unless Epic explicitly says otherwise.
