Remedy has given a window for the CONTROL Resonant NG++ release date: October 2026, with no specific day announced. The studio shared that plan on September 25, one day after the game launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its post-launch announcement also targets November for Photo Mode. New Game+ is already playable; New Game++ and Photo Mode are not.

CONTROL Resonant NG++ release date: October is the target

The name is easy to misread. CONTROL Resonant launched with New Game+, which permits one additional story playthrough. Remedy says its coming New Game++ update will let players begin a new NG+ run after an NG+ run, without erasing their accumulated progress to start from scratch. The studio says it should arrive in October 2026, so treat that month as a target rather than a confirmed launch day.

You do not need to wait for October to keep playing after the ending. Remedy says the current game lets you remain in Manhattan to finish undiscovered or incomplete side quests and find World Feats. You can also start the existing New Game+ run. The announced update addresses what happens when a player wants to replay again after that second run.

What carries over in CONTROL Resonant New Game Plus?

In an official explanation of New Game+, Remedy lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov says Aberrant upgrades, health and combat-ability resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents, and artifacts persist into the next run. Traversal abilities do not carry over because they are tied to story progression. This is the clearest available description of the mode that is playable now; it is not a promise about every rule of future NG++ runs.

New Game+ also opens a fourth artifact slot, up from three in the first playthrough, and lets you equip multiple combat abilities from the same boss. Remedy says its returning encounters can grow more demanding as the world evolves. That makes NG+ more than a simple story reset for players who want to keep refining Dylan's build, although the studio has not explained how challenge will scale across repeated NG++ runs.

CONTROL Resonant Photo Mode release date: November target

Photo Mode was not available at launch. Remedy says it prioritized the game's release build and consulted virtual photographers from its community while developing the feature. It expects Photo Mode sometime in November 2026; no day or complete list of camera tools has been announced.

The same post promises more cosmetic items for Dylan in future updates without naming the items or giving a date. Neither that promise nor the Photo Mode window means those features are available in the current version.

The launch-day 1.3.3 hotfix notes provide useful context for the roadmap. Remedy reduced the base health and Falter requirement of most enemies, increased maximum Aberrant and ability strength, and lowered the cost of resetting a build. Those balance changes are separate from October's planned replay update and November's Photo Mode.

What this means for players

If you want a first playthrough or one stronger second run, you can start now: New Game+ is already included. If you specifically want to chain multiple powered-up runs, October is the window to watch. If taking in-game photographs is central to your interest, wait for Remedy to confirm that Photo Mode has actually shipped in November.

CONTROL Resonant is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW, according to Remedy's official FAQ. The Mac edition is planned for later in 2026 through Steam and the App Store. That FAQ, checked September 28, 2026, lists suggested US prices of $59.99 for Standard and $69.99 for Digital Deluxe; regional and current store prices may differ. The Steam store page has the current PC listing.

Newcomers do not have to finish the first CONTROL before starting Resonant, Remedy says. The sequel follows Dylan Faden rather than Jesse, moving from the Oldest House to a distorted Manhattan and emphasizing Dylan's shapeshifting melee weapon. That change helps explain why carrying a developed build into another run matters: this is a replay system built around combat options as well as revisiting the story.

What we still do not know

Remedy has not announced an exact October date for NG++ or a November date for Photo Mode. It has not detailed whether repeated NG++ runs add new difficulty scaling, specified every carry-over rule for those later runs, priced the planned additions, or dated the cosmetics. The Mac version also has no firm day beyond Remedy's later-2026 window. Check the official announcement feed before treating any of these targets as live features.
